Octo Soap
Concept & Design
During a course in Entrepreneurship, I developed a concept called Octo Soap. It's a soap that helps children to wash their hands better. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, is washing your hands correctly more crucial than ever. Octo Soap helps children wash their hands for at least 20 seconds due to its colour indicator.
Why Octo Soap.
Due to COVID-19, people have to wash their hands more often and for at least 20 seconds (Prevention, 2020).
Research (survey and interviews) has shown that teachers and parents cannot guarantee every 20 seconds.
It is not possible or difficult for young children to estimate time independently.
This has to do with their cognitive ability and that some are too young to count. To create/stimulate a sense of time, Children need symbolic or verbal instructions. (Droit Vole, 2012)
3. Primary schools do not have enough materials to allow students to wash their hands for 20 seconds (McInerney, 2020).
